Jungle Heart
Look inside the deepest part of your jungle heart
You may see me swinging there on a vine through the hot and sticky air
Well, grab the beast by the horn and look into the tigers eye
Don't you tell 'em what you saw
Just walk away
And don't ask why
For the sweet music of the night
and to everything that was so right
between us
just between us
Through a crack in the sky, I grab my angel wings and fly
Playing with my angel band is a heavenly delight
Well I don't mind that monkey dance
'cause I know how to make it fun
It ain't dirty and I don't mind
takin' money when I'm done
We have our dreams to follow
Not without a taste from sorrow's cup
I drink it on up.
Chin Chin, I'm staying fresh, it's down the hatch and bottoms up!
Waking in my spacious bed,
I wrap the morning sun around me.
I can hear that wild bird sing,
so amazed its voice has found me.
I can hear that wild bird sing!
Look inside the deepest part
Look inside the deepest part
Look inside the deepest part
of your jungle heart

Golden Box
All of your pain
give it to me
for I know how to use it
I have been here before
I know what to do
I know I can take it
When a loss is so great
you feel yourself break
and just watch all the pieces
scatter as they fall
It's such a hard fall
and there is no peace here
But I will hold my hands out
and I'll catch the love
All of the love
the love in the sorrow
and I will guard it safely
in a golden box
with a jeweled lock
until tomorrow
Now when you see a heart's pain
go and take it away
for you know how to use it
You have been here before
You know you what to do
You know you can take it
And you hold your hands out
and you catch the love
All of the love
the love in the sorrow
And you guard it safely
in a golden box
with a jeweled lock
until tomorrow

That's
The Way It Goes
Sometimes you're my friend, sometimes you're not
Sometimes you know a lot, sometimes you don't know squat
Sometimes you're my lover, sometimes you're such a bubba
But everybody knows
that's the way it goes!
OH OH...
Sometimes I'm your object of desire
Sometimes I'm like a gun that's just misfired
Sometimes I bring the calm, sometimes I bring the storm
But everybody knows
that's the way it goes!
OH OH...
And when we thought that it was over
And we would never make it through
this last supper together....
Came the words to this song
And the beat that goes on
Just like a phoenix burning in a fire
But everybody knows
That's the way it goes!
OH OH...

Here In
This Place
Here in the place
where I've lost everything,
everything I've ever wanted,
I cradle myself in this forest of trees
As I close my eyes, I fall to my knees
And I hear, I hear
the song that's been sung
for thousands of years
through millions of tears
The pattern of light through
the leaves on these trees
seems like a mosaic of souls
who have lived before,
struggled before
Their legacy unfolds
And I hear, I hear
the song that's been sung
for thousands of years
through millions of tears
Here in the place
where I have everything,
everything I've ever needed,
I offer myself to the wind and the dust
And pray to be worthy
of this holy trust
And I sing, I sing
the song that's been sung
for the peace that it brings,
for the peace that it brings

Run Off
In the window a cat sits watching
warm sun upon it's back
Patient as a hunter waiting
My heart has patience like that
You left it up to me,
and now I want to know
You left it up to me,
but this is how it goes
Fireworks and fireflies
on a hillside in July
Crickets sing a primal serenade
dry wind blows a longing sigh
When the lights go out at night
and you are lying still
I pull the covers over me
but this is how it feels
From the branch of a dogwood tree
I see a red bird flying off
Light dims as the clouds roll in
Cat preens and licks its claws
the sky is breaking open now
and rain is pouring down
I watch the water running off
this hard, drought ridden ground

Standing
on Solid Ground
Thank you for this day, Sweet Jesus
Thank you for this day, Sweet Lord
Thank you for this day
And showing me a way
Thank you for this day, Sweet Jesus
Thank you for this song, Sweet Jesus
Thank you for this song, Sweet Lord
Thank you for this song
It carries me along
Thank you for this song, Sweet Jesus
Dog runnin' through the tall, tall grass ,Sweet Jesus
Dog runnin' through the tall, tall grass, Sweet Lord
Dog runnin through the tall, tall grass
Kick back my head with a belly laugh
Dog runnin' through the tall, tall grass, Sweet Jesus
Butterfly just caught my eye, Sweet Jesus
Butterfly just caught my eye, Sweet Lord
Butterfly just caught my eye
Fragile wings and flyin' high
Butterfly just caught my eye, Sweet Jesus
Well, I'm standin' on solid ground, Sweet Jesus
I'm standin' on solid ground, Sweet Lord
I'm standin' on solid ground
'Cause the power of love is what I've found
I'm standin' on solid ground, Sweet Jesus
Repeat last verse

The Other Side
Mama, how are you doing on the other side?
Is there another side?
Mama, how does it feel now to be light as air?
Are you really light as air?
I feel you gone. I feel you near...........
With every breath, I hear life and death
Mama, do you remember
all of the things I can't?
Mama, do you remember
stories about your childhood,
stories about mine
You were the keeper of time
A beating heart, a ticking clock
But time moves on when beating hearts stop
When I go to your house
everything seems so strange
Nothing has moved, yet all has changed
Dresses in the closet hanging limp and still
Shoes I will never fill
In an empty shell far from the shore
I hear the distant ocean roar

Comfort Me
Comfort me
Comfort me
Lay your hands on my eyes
so I might see
the right road to take
the clear choice to make
Oh comfort me
Comfort me
Spending time alone
Watching lots of movies
Talking on the phone
Don't want to leave my home
I'm somebody's no one
Nobody's someone
Oh comfort me
Comfort me
Plant flowers in the yard
Fill up the bird feeder
Browsing through the paper
I might buy a weedeater
I'm living the small life
Trying to do right
Oh comfort me
Comfort me
Turn on the porch light
when there's no moon light
I know it as a hard life
I know it as a sweet life
Show me a plan
I'm doing the best I can
Oh comfort me
Comfort me
I've seen it in your eyes
Something so weary
of searching for the truth
I know you've paid some dues
Lay your pride down gently
and if you will let me
I'll comfort you
I'll comfort you
Lay your pride down gently
and if you will let me
I'll comfort you
I'll comfort you

Loud Touch Of
Your Hand
You have a lover.
You're not in love.
She says she loves you
Because, because, because...
You've tried to make her understand.
But can she hear your words,
over the loud touch of your hand?
We know the pain
of a love that did not work,
when all the good times
are held hostage by the hurt.
Now, a final letting go.
We offer up good will
knowing the emptiness will fill.
Deep in our hearts
we all hunger for love
that is honest and true,
full of passion.
But loneliness delivers this blow,
though surrounded by many,
we can feel so all alone.
And so we dance a dance
of love and lust.
True love seems like a miracle
yet in our hearts we trust.
Do we wish upon a falling star,
or wish upon the souls we are
and wait and listen
for the soft touch of love's hand?

Dream Mantra
I am living all my dreams
and I see you in my dreams
everything I ever wanted
is here before me
everything I ever dreamed of
is here before me
now
GATE GATE PARAGATE
PARASAMGATE
BODHI SVAHA
a touch, a sigh
golden embers
ignite the sky
a memory in moonlight
a whispered prayer in the night
passion's fire needs just a spark
to light a path within my heart
I am living all my dreams
